AAPOL Scholarship Fundraiser
Since its formation in 1975, the Afro- American Police Officer League has strived to promote social fellowship within our membership. AAPOL has been leading the way by providing educational seminars on police and citizen interactions. The Afro-American Police Officers’ League (AAPOL) have been sowing seeds, making a positive impact in our communities and young people. In the past three years, AAPOL has given away approximately $30,000 in
scholarships to high school graduates and community outreach programs.
AAPOL successful raised $13,000 in scholarship fund at this year’s gala for the 2019 high school graduates. Moreover, we would like to thank all the attendee(s) for the donations, contributions and acts of kindness to invest in the future of our youth.

AAPOL STRONG
Lieutenant Christopher Baltazar, formerly assigned to the Office of Public Affairs, retired from the Houston Police Department on October 5, 2018. Lt. Baltazar began his career with the Houston Police Department as a member of Cadet Class #168 and retired with over twenty-two years of dedicated service.
The African American Police Officers’ League-AAPOL wish him well as he embarks on this new chapter in his life.
Senior Police Officer Darrell D. Barnes, formerly assigned to the Burglary and Police Theft Division, Financial Crimes Unit, retired on May 18, 2018 with over 33 years of dedicated service. SPO Barnes joined the Department on March 4, 1985 as a member of Cadet Class #127.
Senior Police Officer Reginald R. Kimble, formerly assigned to the Security Operations Unit- Downtown Division, retired on November 17, 2018. He began his career with the Houston Police Department on February 14, 1990, as a member of Class #APL6. SPO Kimble is retired with over twenty-eight years of dedicated service.
Camp Gladiator took over Minute Maid Park for free fun and fitness which included a ten station obstacle course. Lunges, Push Ups, Power Skips, Burpees, Bear Crawls, Sprint Up throughout the stadium bleachers and corridors made up this three mile workout!
Congratulations, Dr. J’Marcus C. Adams (Houston Police Department Lieutenant) who was one of several law enforcement representatives from around the world who recently graduated from the FBI National Academy.
The FBI National Academy is a professional course of study for U. S. and International law enforcement managers nominated by their agency heads because of demonstrated leadership qualities. The 10-week program-which provides coursework in intelligence theory, terrorism, and terrorist mindsets, management science, law and forensic science-, serves to improve justice in police departments.
Congratulations to AAPOL President E. Carr, who was awarded the 2018 Fraud Fighter of the Year Award by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) Houston Chapter.
